Now that you have an overview of Becker, let’s take a deeper dive into their new course and how it’s turned the CIA exam prep world upside down.

Content and Structure

Becker’s course structure is as guided, supportive, and streamlined as you’d expect from a prep provider of their caliber. I enjoyed the easy-to-navigate interface, intuitive material locations, and having the reading and learning sections served in bite-sized chunks, separated by practice questions to drive home what I’d just learned.

And let me tell you, these practice questions are the real deal. The wording, format, and reading level are identical to those on the real exam (I grabbed 20 and compared them to past CIA exam questions). However, they are a little tougher in asking about more obscure topics, or having you think harder to get the correct answer. Ultimately, I think they’re one of the best aspects of the course, so if “practice makes perfect” guides your studies, I’d recommend Becker CIA review.

Adaptive Learning Technology

One of the standout tools in Becker’s CIA course is its Adapt2U system—basically, an algorithm that pays attention to how you learn and shifts your study plan in real time. As you answer questions, the tech figures out what you know and what still needs work. It then tweaks the practice sets and suggestions to ensure you’re spending time where it counts, not spinning your wheels on topics you’ve already nailed.

In practice, I found this super helpful. I’d work through a batch of questions and see the platform slowly reshaping the focus of my sessions. Instead of manually trying to guess what to review next, Adapt2U gently nudged me toward trickier areas I hadn’t quite locked down. It’s not flashy or complicated—it just works in the background to keep your study time as productive as possible. That level of efficiency is enormous for anyone balancing study with work or life.

Value

As far as price, Becker lies somewhere in the middle of the pack. They’re more affordable than the top competitor, Gleim, and the live class-driven Management Concepts. However, they’re more expensive than budget-friendly choices Surgent and PRC.

Further, Becker’s access length is pretty long at 24 months, compared to the industry average of 18 months. While they don’t offer a pass guarantee like competitors Gleim and Surgent, in a way, Becker does one better: by partnering directly with the Institute of Internal Auditors in creating their study materials. That translates to the most accurate practice questions and exams, the most relevant concepts to study, and ultimately, the only IIA-endorsed CIA exam prep course on the market.

Look, I get being anxious, and if a true pass guarantee alleviates that anxiety, go for it. Seriously. Keeping your mental health intact is necessary to complete this journey with a shiny new certification on the other end. However, for some students, the IIA partnership may be a more reliable form of that guarantee. So, value is in the eye of the beholder. Decide which features most appeal to you, and choose the course that best fits that mold.

Becker has some of the fastest support for aspiring certified internal auditors on the market. You can reach their academic or technical support teams by calling or sending an email, and they promise a response within 48 hours. However, only one contact even approached that limit because I messaged on a Saturday afternoon. Thankfully, my reply came bright and early on Monday morning. The rest of the replies came well within 24 hours, often in 4 hours or fewer.

Further, Becker features a private CIA Facebook study group just for Becker CIA students. Even though the course is relatively new, the group is already active, and I have had the privilege of seeing students help other students with questions, form virtual study groups, and provide support and comfort when needed.

Final Verdict
